Obsessions

Thu Jan 22, 2009, 7:13 PM
I think (hope) I'm not alone in, at times, being consumed by an obsession that knows no bounds. The oldest, most enduring of these would be hide merchadise--to the point where I spent 2000 yen on a knock off skull earring in a small shop in Shibuya when I already have an authentic one from the shop hide actually bought his from. I probably spent a good $200 on hide merchadise, pretty much whatever I chanced upon.

But newer, fresher obsessions have taken root as of late. Some took me by surprise, others I probably should have seen coming.

-Marvel Slash, specifically Captain America/Iron Man. It's been a while, and I was out of the marvel circuit for a long time, but after "Civil War" (I'll avoid posting spoilers), I can say with ease that Steve/Tony is probably my Marvel OTP.

-Robert Downey Jr., and no, this wasn't directly related to the Iron Man movie. Though when I saw the movie I was impressed (as far as superhero movies go, it gets my vote, and tbh, I enjoyed it more than The Dark Knight, but Batman's never been my cup of tea). Probably what really inspired it was Tropic Thunder. Something about Tropic Thunder compelled me to start buying up old RDJ movies (Heart & Soul is an amazing, hammy, pure 90's RDJ flick that I recommend to anyone who doesn't take their film watching too seriously).

-Rasperry Italian Cream sodas. I work at a Starbucks Franchise in a B&N, so I make them for myself pretty much every time I work.

-The American Astronaut Soundtrack (and of course the movie, but I can't sit down and watch the movie 24/7). I was introduced to this movie a few years back, but my brother got the soundtrack for Christmas, and I've been playing it more than is probably healthy. Great example, srsly.

  • Mood: Astonished
  • Listening to: American Astronaut
  • Reading: The Wind-Up Bird Chronicles
  • Watching: Spiderman and his Amazing Friends
  • Playing: Chrono Trigger
  • Eating: nothing
  • Drinking: cream sodas

I’m sick of looking for those heroes in the sky
To teach us how to fly
Together we cry!

Together we cry…
Together we cry…

There's so much sad gonna flood the ocean
We're all in tears for a world is broken
